Intel iBook? Is it a good thing?

I'm not sure what advantage this would bring to the consumer. I'm not a big enough "techie" to understand the fine details between the PowerPC G4 and the Intel processor. Personally, I would rather not see Apple drop their prices in an attempt to be competitive in their laptop sales. With the high demand for the iPod products, why lower the standards and specs of their already wonderful system. Maybe this could be a good additon. From my past experience, the performance of any new processor is esentialy the same or so small that I can't see the differnce. Maybe someone should educate me on this.
